Website Development Cost in Navi Mumbai: What You Are Actually Paying For

What decides website development cost in Navi Mumbai

There is no fixed rate for website development cost in Navi Mumbai, and a price given before anyone asks about your business is a guess. As a rule, a small informative site on a licensed template costs the least, a product catalogue with an admin panel costs more, and an online store costs the most. Within each type, the factors below move the price, and on top sits a yearly running cost that many quotes leave out: domain, hosting, official email and maintenance.

This guide takes each cost driver in turn, then shows how to compare quotes from different developers and which shortcuts to watch for. If you already know roughly what you need, you can see our website packages, which are grouped into the same three types.

  • Website type: informative, product catalogue or e-commerce
  • Number of pages, and what counts as a page
  • Custom design or a ready-made template
  • Static site or an admin panel (CMS)
  • Features: forms, WhatsApp chat, payment gateway, languages, integrations
  • Content, photography and basic SEO setup
  • Yearly costs: domain, hosting, official email, maintenance

Website type sets the starting point: informative, product catalogue or e-commerce

The biggest single factor is what the website has to do. Most business websites fall into one of three types, and each needs a very different amount of work. Decide which one you need before asking for quotes, or you will end up comparing different products.

Informative website: for service businesses

An informative website explains who you are, what you do and how to reach you. It suits service businesses such as clinics, CA firms, interior designers, contractors and consultants, where the goal is a phone call or an enquiry, not an online sale.

A basic informative site has Home, About Us, Services, Gallery and Contact pages. The price rises as you add individual service pages, a projects section, a blog, FAQs and policy pages. On our own pricing page, informative packages start at a 6–7 page site and go up to 20–25 pages.

Product catalogue website: for manufacturers, traders and distributors

A product-based website lists what you make or supply, with a separate details page for each product, but no online checkout. Buyers enquire, request a quotation or call. It is a common choice for manufacturers and traders in the MIDC belt along Thane–Belapur Road, where many orders are negotiated rather than placed through a cart.

Cost here follows the number of products and categories. Every product needs a page, photos, specifications and a place in the menu, so a 200-product catalogue is a very different job from a 20-product one.

E-commerce website: the most work, and a platform choice that changes running costs

An e-commerce website adds a cart, checkout, payment gateway, order management, stock, shipping rules, discount codes and customer accounts. Each of these has to be set up and tested, whether it is custom-built or comes with a platform such as WooCommerce or Shopify. That is why e-commerce costs the most of the three types.

The platform also changes what you pay every year. A Shopify store pays Shopify a subscription, billed monthly or yearly, that includes hosting, while a WooCommerce store runs on WordPress and needs its own hosting. On either, paid apps, plugins or themes can add further fees.

Price also follows the number of categories and products loaded at launch, which is why our own e-commerce website development packages are tiered by the number of product categories. List the systems above that you need before collecting quotes, so you can check which ones each quote actually includes.

Pages, design and the admin panel decide how much work goes in

Within any website type, three choices move the price the most: how many pages, how the design is made, and whether you can edit the site yourself.

Number of pages, and what counts as a page

Developers price by page count because each page needs layout, content, mobile checks and on-page SEO. Ask what counts as a page: product details pages, blog templates and policy pages may or may not be included.

Area pages are a common late addition. A business that serves Vashi, Kharghar, Panvel and Airoli may want a separate page for each area. Plan these at the start, and budget for genuinely different content on each: Google's spam policies treat near-identical pages that only swap the place name as doorway pages.

Custom design or a ready-made template

A template, or theme, is a pre-built design adjusted with your logo, colours and content. It is quicker and cheaper, and adequate for many small businesses. A custom design is planned around your services and customers, designed first and then built, so it takes more designer and developer time.

Either can work. What matters is that a template is a properly licensed copy, and that the quote says plainly which of the two you are getting.

Static site or an admin panel (CMS)

On a static website, content is fixed in the code: to change a phone number or add a photo, you go back to the developer. What developers usually call a dynamic website has an admin panel (CMS) where your team can edit text, publish blog posts, upload products and update the gallery without touching code. A semi-dynamic site makes only some parts, such as the blog or gallery, editable.

An admin panel costs more upfront but saves on small changes over the years. If your offers, products or projects change every month, it is usually worth it. If the site will hardly change after launch, a static site is a sensible saving.

Features that add to the cost: forms, payments, languages and integrations

Features are where two quotes for the same number of pages can end up far apart. Ask for each feature to be named in the quote, not covered by a phrase like "all basic features".

  • Enquiry forms: a simple contact form is standard; multi-step forms, file uploads or forms linked to your CRM take more work.
  • WhatsApp chat button: inexpensive and worth having, since many customers in India would rather message than fill in a form.
  • Payment gateway: needs integration, testing and KYC approval of your business by the gateway, which usually charges its own fee on each transaction.
  • Multiple languages: an English plus Hindi or Marathi version is a second set of content to write and maintain, not just a translate button.
  • Booking, appointment or calculator tools: each one is custom logic, so each adds cost.
  • Integration with your CRM, billing or ERP software, so enquiries land directly in the system your team already uses.
  • Google Map, reviews and social media links: small, but confirm they are included.

Content, photography and SEO setup: the costs hidden in "you send us the content"

Many quotes assume you will provide all the text and photos, and this is where projects stall for weeks. Agree in advance who writes the page content, who supplies photographs, and whether they will be stock images or a shoot of your office, site or products.

For product and e-commerce sites, also ask how many products the developer will upload for you. Entering products with photos, prices, descriptions and specifications is slow work. A clear quote states a number per category; anything above that is usually charged separately.

Basic SEO setup belongs in every business website: a unique title and meta description per page, clean URLs, an XML sitemap, Google Search Console, fast mobile loading, and business details that match your Google Business Profile. Ongoing local SEO, so that you show up when people nearby search for what you offer, is continuing work and should be its own line in the quote, not a vague "SEO included".

Yearly running costs people forget to budget for

The build is a one-time cost. Keeping the website online is a yearly cost, and it is what surprises most owners when the second year's renewals arrive. Ask for each of these as a separate line with its renewal price, not only the first-year price.

Our pricing page lists server, domain, official mail and AMC charges separately from the website packages. You can also read about our hosting services and our website and CRM maintenance plans.

  • Domain name: renewed every year, or for several years at a time.
  • Hosting or server: where the website lives. Cost depends on processing power, storage, backups and traffic; online stores and image-heavy sites need more.
  • SSL certificate: the padlock and https in the address bar. Often free with good hosting, but confirm it renews automatically.
  • Official email on your own domain: priced per mailbox or per plan, so ask how many mailboxes are included.
  • AMC (annual maintenance contract): updates, security patches, backups, small content changes and fixes. E-commerce AMC usually costs more because there is more that can break.
  • Payment gateway charges: usually a fee on each online transaction, paid to the gateway, not the developer.

How to compare website quotes like-for-like

Two quotes can only be compared when they describe the same website. Put every quote against the same list of questions and ask each developer to answer in writing. Often, the cheaper quote is cheaper because something on this list is missing.

Also look at work the developer has already delivered: open a few of their live client sites on your phone and check how quickly they load and whether the call and WhatsApp buttons work. Whether you choose us or another website development company in Navi Mumbai, ask these questions:

  • Exactly how many pages are included, and which ones?
  • Is the design custom or a template? If a template, is it licensed?
  • Will I get an admin panel, and what can I edit myself?
  • Who writes the content and supplies photos? How many products will you upload?
  • Which features are included, listed by name?
  • What SEO setup is done before launch?
  • In whose name will the domain, hosting and email accounts be registered?
  • What will domain, hosting, email and AMC cost from the second year, and how are backups handled?
  • How many rounds of changes are included, what is the timeline, and is GST extra?
  • Will I get full admin access and my website files if I move to another developer later?

Red flags in a too-cheap website quote

A low price is not a problem in itself. A low price that comes from cutting the things you cannot see on launch day is. Watch for these:

  • Domain or hosting in the developer's name. If the relationship ends, you can lose your website address and your email with it. Insist on your business name, with logins shared with you.
  • Nulled themes or plugins: cracked copies of paid software that often carry hidden malicious code and cannot receive official updates. Ask for the licence.
  • No backups. One bad update or hacked plugin can take the site down. Ask how often backups run and how quickly the site can be restored.
  • Hosting with no stated specifications. Slow hosting makes pages crawl on mobile data, and visitors leave before they enquire.
  • No admin access and no handover of files if you change developers.
  • A vague scope, such as "complete website" with no page list, feature list or number of revision rounds.
  • A promise of guaranteed first-page Google rankings. Google's own advice on hiring an SEO says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google.
  • No written quotation or agreement, and no proper invoice. If GST is charged, it should be on a tax invoice showing the developer's GSTIN.

Getting an accurate estimate: settle type, size and must-have features first

The quickest route to a realistic figure is to settle three things first: which of the three website types you need, roughly how many pages or products, and which features are must-haves. With those answers written down, a developer can give you a firm quote instead of a wide range.

Crystal Design, founded in 2015 and based in Kopar Khairane, builds websites for businesses across Navi Mumbai, Thane and Mumbai. You can read about our website development services; our packages list the pages and features in each, so you can hold them against any other quote. If your requirement does not fit a package, contact us with your page list and must-have features, and we will scope it for you.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on the type of site, the number of pages, template or custom design, whether you need an admin panel, and features such as a payment gateway. An informative site on a licensed template sits at the lower end, a product catalogue with an admin panel costs more, and an e-commerce store costs the most. Add yearly costs for domain, hosting, email and maintenance. For Crystal Design's current packages, see the pricing page or send us your page and feature list.

Expect domain renewal, hosting or server charges, official email, and an annual maintenance contract (AMC) for updates, backups and security fixes. Online stores also usually pay a payment gateway fee on each transaction, and Shopify stores pay a platform subscription. Ask for renewal prices in writing before you sign.

Usually because they are not quoting for the same thing. One may include custom design, an admin panel, content writing, product uploads and SEO setup, while another quotes for a template filled with your own content and leaves out hosting and maintenance. Compare them against the same checklist of pages, features, ownership and yearly costs.

Yes. The domain, hosting and email accounts should be registered in your business name, with the login details shared with you, even if the developer manages them. That way you keep your website address and email if you ever change developers.

Website design, development, hosting and maintenance are taxable services, so a GST-registered developer will normally add GST and should show it on a tax invoice with their GSTIN. A small freelancer who is not GST-registered cannot charge GST at all. Ask whether each quote is inclusive or exclusive of GST so you are comparing the same thing.

If customers buy at fixed prices and pay upfront, as with most retail products, an e-commerce site with a cart and payment gateway makes sense. If prices depend on quantity, specifications or negotiation, as with most manufacturers and B2B suppliers, a product catalogue with enquiry and quotation forms is usually the better and cheaper fit.
